Aerial photography of your district
A colleague of mine showed me a site called Multimap.com which has some pretty standard internet mapping features a la Google Maps etc., but what really caught my eye was the aerial view available for some areas.
Not all countries and not all areas of those countries have this feature but I was able to get a good bird's eye view of my house and district by searching on the postcode and then selecting the 'bird's eye view' tool for my road.
The results are good and detailed and I could tell when the photo had been taken as the hawthorn was in bloom and I could see the summer house but not the greenhouse which was added a month later!
And yes, there's my car parked right outside the front of the house.
Great detail as you can see.
Try this for fun or business, it's surprising how reference to an aerial shot of your home or business location will intrigue your friends/customers!
