01782 749696 This is where my wife and I will be heading off to on Friday evening just as fast as our little legs can carry us.
The town centre of Stoke has some good eating houses and some great pubs so after a suitable tonsil-moistener we will repair to Planet Bollywood.
We always get a great welcome there and the friendly staff will show us to one of the cozy side booths which hold 4 people comfortably or 2 people romantically!
The menu is very well veised and contains starters and main meals with weight-watching in mind if that is your priority, or the full blown feast option!
What makes this a favourite is that the owner will happily spend as much time as you like going through all the dishes, translating and even making up new dishes for your pwersonal preference.
For me he created a fabulous fish acahri desai, and for my wife a chicken dish using similar spices and levels of 'heat'.
The emphasis is on flavour and not just overkill of tongue-numbing chillies and I really appreciate that.
The speciality rice pudding dessert has to be tasted to be believed.
The restaurant is fully licensed for alchohol, but you make take a bottle of your favourite tipple if you wish, and that combined with the restaurant's reasonable rates can make for a memorable but not bank-breaking evening.
